Baccarat Procedures

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards with less than a value of ten are give a value of face value while ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual players; they merely depict the 2 hands to be dealt).

Two hands of 2 cards are then given out to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The total for any hand will be the grand total of the two cards, but the initial digit is dropped. For example, a hand of 7 … 5 results in a tally of 2 (7plus5=12; drop the ‘one’).

A third card may be given out depending on the following regulations:

- If the bettor or banker has a total of 8 or 9, the two bettors stand.

- If the player has 5 or less, he hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the bettor hits, a chart is used to figure if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The higher of the 2 scores is the winner. Winning bets on the banker pay nineteen to twenty (even money minus a 5% commission. Commission is tracked and cleared out when you leave the table so ensure you have dollars left before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to 1. Winning bets for tie normally pay out 8 to one but occasionally 9 to 1. (This is a terrible bet as ties will occur lower than one every 10 hands. Avoid laying money on a tie. Still, odds are positively better – nine to one versus 8 to 1)

Played correctly, baccarat presents pretty good odds, apart from the tie bet ofcourse.

Baccarat Tactics

As with just about all games, Baccarat has some common false impressions. One of which is quite similar to a roulette myth. The past is surely not an actual indicator of future outcomes. Keeping track of last outcomes on a chart is for sure a total waste of paper and an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most accepted and probably most successful strategy is the one-3-two-6 method. This tactic is employed to boost winnings and lowering risk.

Begin by wagering 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, remove four so you have 2 on the 3rd wager. If you win the 3rd bet, add 2 to the four on the table for a sum of six on the fourth gamble.

If you don’t win on the first wager, you take a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet followed up by loss on the 2nd causes a loss of two. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you breakeven. Accomplishing a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. In other words that you can lose the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
