Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards below a value of ten are said to be worth their printed number whereas ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual contenders; they strictly represent the 2 hands to be dealt).
Two hands of 2 cards are then given to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The total for any hand is the grand total of the two cards, but the very first digit is dumped. For example, a hand of seven and 5 produces a value of two (7plusfive=twelve; drop the ‘one’).

Baccarat Odds
The greater of the two scores wins. Successful stakes on the banker pay out 19 to 20 (even money minus a five percent commission. Commission is kept track of and moved out when you leave the table so ensure you have money still before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to one. Winning bets for tie by and large pays out at eight to one but occasionally 9 to one. (This is a terrible gamble as ties will occur lower than 1 every 10 hands. Avoid wagering on a tie.
