Baccarat Regulations

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards that are valued under ten are valued at their printed value while 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual gamblers; they only depict the two hands to be dealt).

2 hands of two cards are then given out to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The score for any hand will be the total of the 2 cards, but the initial digit is dumped. For example, a hand of 7 as well as 5 produces a value of 2 (7plusfive=twelve; drop the ‘one’).

A 3rd card can be played depending on the following rules:

- If the bettor or banker has a total score of 8 or 9, the two players stand.

- If the bettor has five or lower, he hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of 5 or less. If the gambler hits, a chart shall be used in order to see if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The larger of the two scores is the winner. Victorious bets on the banker pay at 19 to 20 (even money minus a five % commission. Commission is monitored and paid out when you leave the table so make sure to have dollars remaining before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to one. Winning bets for tie as a rule pays eight to one but occasionally 9 to 1. (This is a terrible gamble as ties will occur less than one every 10 hands. Avoid putting money on a tie. Still, odds are considerably better – nine to 1 vs. 8 to one)

When done properly, baccarat presents relatively decent odds, away from the tie wager ofcourse.

Baccarat Strategy

As with many games, Baccarat has some common myths. 1 of which is similar to a roulette myth. The past is in no way an actual indicator of future outcomes. Monitoring of previous outcomes on a chart is simply a complete waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most established and feasibly most successful strategy is the 1-three-2-six concept. This process is deployed to accentuate successes and minimizing risk.

Begin by gambling one unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, clear away four so you have 2 on the third gamble. If you win the third gamble, add two to the four on the table for a total of six on the fourth gamble.

If you don’t win on the 1st wager, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd creates a loss of two. Wins on the first two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you come out even. Arriving at a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. This means that you can fail to win the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
