Baccarat Procedures
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. Cards under 10 are valued at their printed value and on the other hand 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they purely symbolize the 2 hands to be played).
2 hands of two cards are then given to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The score for each hand shall be the sum total of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is discarded. For e.g., a hand of 7 as well as 5 will have a total score of 2 (7plusfive=twelve; drop the ‘one’).
A third card can be played depending on the following codes:
- If the gambler or banker has a value of eight or 9, each players stand.
- If the bettor has five or lower, he hits. gamblers stand otherwise.
- If bettor stands, the banker hits of 5 or lesser. If the bettor hits, a chart is used to decide if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The higher of the two scores wins. Victorious wagers on the banker pay at 19 to twenty (even odds minus a five percent commission. Commission is tracked and cleared out when you leave the table so make sure that you have dollars still before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to 1. Winner bets for tie usually pay 8 to 1 and occasionally nine to 1. (This is a bad bet as ties occur less than 1 every 10 hands. Avoid placing bets on a tie. Nevertheless odds are significantlly better – 9 to 1 versus eight to one)
When played accurately, baccarat provides fairly good odds, apart from the tie bet obviously.
Baccarat Tactics
As with just about every games, Baccarat has some common myths. One of which is very similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is in no way an actual indicator of future actions. Monitoring of historic results on a chart is simply a complete waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.
The most popular and almost certainly most successful method is the 1-three-2-6 concept. This method is employed to increase winnings and cutting back risk.
Begin by betting 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, clear away 4 so you have 2 on the third gamble. If you win the 3rd bet, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a grand total of six on the 4th wager.
If you lose on the 1st bet, you take a loss of one. A win on the first bet followed up by loss on the second creates a loss of two. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. Arriving at a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. Therefore you can get beaten the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
