Baccarat Procedures

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. Cards which are of a value less than 10 are said to be worth their printed value whereas ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual individuals; they only depict the two hands to be played).

Two hands of 2 cards will now be played to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The score for every hand shall be the sum of the 2 cards, but the very first digit is dumped. For eg, a hand of 7 and five gives a score of 2 (sevenplusfive=12; drop the ‘1′).

A third card can be played depending on the following rules:

- If the gambler or banker has a value of 8 or nine, then both players stand.

- If the bettor has 5 or less, he hits. gamblers stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the player hits, a chart will be used to figure if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the two scores will be the winner. Victorious bets on the banker pay at 19 to 20 (even money less a 5% commission. Commission is kept track of and cleared out when you leave the table so make sure you have money remaining before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to one. Winner bets for tie typically pays eight to 1 but sometimes 9 to one. (This is an awful wager as ties happen lower than one every 10 hands. Stay away from wagering on a tie. Nonetheless odds are remarkably better – 9 to one vs. eight to 1)

When done effectively, baccarat presents pretty good odds, aside from the tie bet obviously.

Baccarat Strategy

As with most games, Baccarat has some established misconceptions. One of which is very similar to a roulette myth. The past is surely not an indicator of future results. Tracking of historic results on a chart is undoubtedly a waste of paper as well as a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most accepted and possibly most successful technique is the 1-3-two-six technique. This method is used to build up winnings and cutting back risk.

Begin by gambling one unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, take away four so you have 2 on the third bet. If you win the third bet, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a grand total of six on the fourth bet.

If you lose on the first bet, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd creates a loss of two. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. Accomplishing a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. Therefore you can lose the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
