Punto Banco Rules and Strategy
Baccarat Regulations
Baccarat chemin de fer is gambled on with eight decks of cards in a dealing shoe. Cards valued less than 10 are valued at their printed value while at the same time Ten, Jack, Queen, King are zero, and A is 1. Bets are made on the ‘banker’, the ‘player’, or on a tie (these are not actual people; they just represent the two hands that are dealt).
Two cards are given to both the ‘house’ and ‘gambler’. The total for each hand is the sum total of the cards, but the beginning number is dumped. For instance, a hand of 5 and 6 has a score of 1 (five plus six = 11; drop the first ‘one’).
A additional card could be given out depending on the following rules:
- If the player or house has a total of eight or nine, the two players stand.
- If the player has less than five, she takes a card. Players otherwise hold.
- If the gambler stays, the bank hits on a value lower than 5. If the player hits, a chart is used to determine if the bank holds or hits.
Baccarat Chemin de Fer Odds
The higher of the 2 hands wins. Winning wagers on the banker pay out 19 to 20 (even payout minus a five percent commission. The Rake is kept track of and paid off when you quit the table so ensure you have funds left over just before you quit). Winning bets on the gambler pay 1:1. Winning wagers for tie frequently pay 8 to 1 but on occasion 9:1. (This is a poor wager as a tie occurs lower than 1 in every 10 rounds. Be wary of putting money on a tie. However odds are substantially better for 9:1 vs. eight to one)
Bet on properly punto banco gives generally decent odds, aside from the tie wager of course.
Baccarat Chemin de Fer Strategy
As with all games Baccarat has some accepted misunderstandings. One of which is similar to a misconception in roulette. The past is not a fore-teller of future actions. Recording previous outcomes at a table is a waste of paper and an affront to the tree that was cut down for our paper desires.
The most common and likely the most favorable plan is the one, three, two, six plan. This technique is deployed to build up winnings and limit losses.
Start by placing 1 chip. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the game table for a grand total of three units on the second bet. Should you win you will hold six on the game table, take away 4 so you have two on the 3rd wager. If you win the third round, put down two on the four on the game table for a grand total of six on the 4th bet.
Should you do not win on the first bet, you take a hit of one. A profit on the first round followed by a loss on the 2nd creates a loss of two. Wins on the initial 2 with a loss on the third provides you with a profit of 2. And success on the initial 3 with a hit on the fourth means you experience no loss. Succeeding at all 4 wagers gives you with 12, a gain of ten. This means you can give up the 2nd bet 5 times for every favorable streak of four wagers and still balance the books.
