Baccarat Policies

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards of a value less than ten are said to be worth their printed number while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual people; they merely act as the two hands to be dealt).

Two hands of two cards shall then be given to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The total for every hand is the sum of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is removed. For e.g., a hand of seven and 5 gives a total of two (7plus5=twelve; drop the ‘1′).

A third card may be given out depending on the foll. rules:

- If the gambler or banker has a score of 8 or nine, each players stand.

- If the gambler has five or lower, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If gambler stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the bettor hits, a chart shall be used to determine if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The bigger of the two scores will be the winner. Successful bets on the banker pay out 19 to twenty (even odds less a 5% commission. Commission is tracked and moved out when you leave the table so make sure to have funds left over before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to 1. Winner bets for tie customarily pays 8 to one but sometimes nine to one. (This is a bad gamble as ties will occur lower than one every ten hands. Run away from betting on a tie. Nonetheless odds are somewhat better – 9 to one vs. 8 to 1)

When played smartly, baccarat provides generally good odds, aside from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Tactics

As with most games, Baccarat has some well-known misconceptions. One of which is similar to a roulette misconception. The past is in no way an actual indicator of future events. Keeping track of past results on a chart is undoubtedly a complete waste of paper … an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most accepted and possibly most successful technique is the 1-3-two-6 technique. This process is deployed to boost payouts and controlling risk.

start by betting one unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, subtract four so you have two on the 3rd bet. If you win the 3rd gamble, add 2 to the four on the table for a value of 6 on the fourth wager.

If you lose on the initial bet, you take a loss of one. A win on the first bet followed up by loss on the 2nd will create a loss of 2. Wins on the first two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you come out even. A win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. In other words that you can get beaten the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
